Learning to live outside the skewed mimetic desire field, realigned with Divine freedom, is a process, one that seems to be under the tutelage of the Other, as it gently nudges us towards the fullness of our newly revealed Queendom space. Even the early followers of Yeshua, a group surely comprising of psychically screwed up folk like ourselves, took a long time to finally get it. I suspect though that even they often lapsed back into the old religious sacrificial paradigms of their youth. Sometimes just following Yeshua in Divine mimesis, proved far too easy for their zealous wounded egos. In this post, in the Desire series, I wish to look at the nature of healing, one of the ways that Divine Love pops up along our Journey into wholeness.
Our skewed desire centre is the cause of much of our inner and indeed outer pain. Drawing us into the minefield of another’s desire, rivalry and wounding through psychic or physical trauma is almost certain to occur. The fragmented survival psyche/soul that results with its mission of warding off future attacks is paradoxically the source of our inner pain. Fight or flight is our wounded soul’s dualistic mantra and mission statement. We waltz through this veil of tears, expecting an attack at any time. it’s hard to be at peace in the trenches of inter-personal rivalry.
Onto our tortuous path steps the One who calls us into mimetic freedom and realignment. The Source of all desire energy, the Other whose liberating desire frequency we were created to tune into. Such an initial and often dramatic encounter is our first experience of Healing with a capital H. The psycho-spiritual effects of such an encounter with the one who simply asks us to follow are often quite dramatic. An authentic born again connection that reinstates the Divine spark of spirit in leading our pained psyche back into wholeness and freedom.
After such a conversion or enlightenment experience we usually float on a transcendent psychic cloud for some time before finally returning to earth with a bump, realising that the old mimetic desire matrix still has a measure of gravitational pull on our recovering psyche. At this point some give up the ‘Ghost’ and return disillusioned to their old mimetic paths, convinced that their transcendent encounter was a teasing experience that ultimately proved powerless. Others, listening in the dark void, following their fall to earth, pick up a still small Voice whispering healing to the wounded ones within.
Healing is the gradual putting together of the our psyche’s wounded sub-personalities through the embrace of Divine Love; the gathering together of our little psychic defender attack dogs into the Divine family that has come to dwell once more in the environs of Self. Such a process usually begins with Spirit’s dramatic intervention, following an apparently debilitating transpersonal crisis, but continues in less dramatic fashion as one by one our wounded little selves are targeted over time by the Divine therapist.
The ups and downs of our new life, like the waves on some therapeutic Ocean, carry us closer to the psychic wholeness that we crave, the bosom of the Divine as experienced by mystics throughout the ages. We slowly begin to see our life experience from the Divine perspective, a Journey of healing and reintegration, rather than the dangerous world of survival as scripted by our pain.
Healing is realignment. The unification and union of our psychic being with Divine Love and its desire flow, known by theologians as the will of God . The latter stirs up images of a Divine Controller dictating what we can and can’t do but such a skewed perception is a religious caricature. Divine Desire is the ultimate, and indeed only, liberating energy flow that wishes to bring us into its own sense of joy and Being. Being in mimesis with Divine Love isn’t a religious drag but a true freedom from the rivalry of humanity’s skewed desire matrix.
No longer the little soldier boy or girls of our wounded fortress psyche, our little sub-personalities are drawn in turn out of their isolation and pain into the community of the Beloved within the individual Self. Divine Wisdom, working as only it can, selects the wounded one to engage with. The first signs of such a Divine selection is the kick back of the sub-personality in question. Like a tantrum fuelled infant, it goes off on one , manifesting its particular and specialised emotion as it senses that its time has come.
So what is the key to such a reintegration?
Simply put our sub-personalities love to control us from the dark depths of our lower unconscious, the psychic sellar where we sore our past traumas and their associative pain. Spirit’s goal is always to release our little wounded one into the Light of consciousness, embraced by its unconditional Love whilst recognising the defensive role it has played in our psychic survival. Miraculously the source of such pain within is transformed in such a Divine encounter, like the Gadarene demoniac, who was found sitting and in his right mind after his confrontation with Yeshua’s laser like unconditional Love. Once we come to know our sub-personality, its origin, character and opus morandi, its destructive power dissipates as it lays its self at the feet of Divine Love
Amazingly the gifts of such delinquent sub-personalities can be realigned and channelled into the service of Divine Love. Another nail can be well and truly hammered into the coffin of psychic fragmentation and skewed mimetic desire. Such a process, during our days on earth, lies at the heart of our healing.
In my next post I will examine how even such a vital and wonderful gift as healing can be requisitioned by our remaining sub-personalities in the desire power games of the dysfunctional desire matrix. A vital message for all us dedicated helper healers.

Love this post Dylan. It gives me hope for the healing of my own fragmented psychic. However how does one in practical terms go about getting there. Forgive me if the answer is obvious and I am just not seeing clearly. Blessings . Arthur
Hi Arthur.
Lovely to have you drop by.
The truth is that there is very little that ‘we’ have to do apart from co-operating with the Divine initiative in our lives. Spirit has determined to bring us back to wholeness and not even our fearful sub-personalities can stand in its Way.
The key is seeing for the first time, in the Light of Day, those little ‘I’s that lie within. Divine love will allow outward circumstance to flush them into our consciousness, usually one by one.
Instead of repressing them, as much religious thought suggests, we are to embrace them, seeing the positive and negatives contributions that they bring to our psychic mix. The one to do this of course is Holy Breath or Spirit who flows through our own ‘I am’ observer spirit at the core of our being.
So observing is the first step.
Secondly, active engagement with the wee ‘one’ viz listening to its message of hurts and fears.
Thirdly, welcoming it into ‘consciousness’ by setting a place for it at your table of Self.
Fourthly, encouraging a dialogue, now without heat and violence between all aspects of the restored psyche.
Fifthly, listening carefully to the Voice of our Divine host.
By welcoming the psychic fragment back into consciousness by our co-operative act of will, we are giving them a new or restored integrated identity that stops them being such easy pickings for the skewed mimetic desire of others.
A proper functioning psyche will be a more difficult target for desire vampires and transmitters than a deeply fragmented one.
Hope this helps a little Arthur. If still not practical do ask more and we’ll see what comes!
Thanks Dylan for something to chew over. I’ve read a little about integrating the shadow, is this similar?
Hi Arthur. Carl Jung was the big ‘shadow’ guy. Roberto Assagioli trained under him for a while before coming up with his more spiritual take on the whole shadow thing. It’s from his theories that I’ve found a measure of healing and have interpreted them in my own perculiar Northern Irish way!
